Listen, guys. This is the oldest trick in the book. You can use all kinds of methods of reaching "enlightenment," but they will never work. The only true enlightenment is accepting Jesus into your lives. If you have ever read the Bible, you will find that the serpent promised Eve enlightenment, and all she got from it was kicked out of the garden and death.
Guys, when you empty your mind of all your thoughts and allow "impulses" to come, where do you think the impulses come from? You are opening yourselves to things in the spirit realm that are beyond your control. There are some very dark forces at work in the spirit realm, and they are just waiting for an opportunity to jump in if you give them an opening. Please, don't fall for this.

Interesting response from Messianic Teacher. I wonder if he/she is right and there really is only kind of enlightenment - the kind that you can buy from our 'store'. My understanding is that Tolle quotes the wisdom of Jesus in a lot of his books, especially regarding presence.

I don't think Eckhart Tolle is intentionally misleading people, but I do know the Bible, and his teaching are smart and deceptive.
Jesus was "THE Christ", not a christ. Christ means savior. He is our savior, redeemer. There is more than the present moment, there is eternal life with Christ. I was once very much into this philosophy, I was very spiritual, went on tour with the Grateful dead, travelled to Rainbow gatherings. I thought I was spiritually enlightened, but it is a trap that leads to death and away from Christ. Please all of you who follow Eckhart, please listen to these warnings. You are loved, and you all belong to God, we are all Gods children and need Christs leadership, not Eckharts.

Responding to the pants/skirt issue above, the beauty of christ is the law is trumped by grace. Laws were set up for our protection, not for our bondage. I suppose if one is convicted by God to wear a skirt rather than pants, so be it. I'm not even sure where the pants vs. skirt came from biblically, although I've got some baptist friends who weren't allowed to wear pants growing up. I think to get tied up in legalities and judgement distracts us from a relationship with Christ. Rules are rules, but if we let them interfere with the way we love one another, it becomes unholy. This goes for any sin, some regard meat eating as a sin, but again grace is preferred by God. Homosexuality, jealousy, not honoring your father and mother, all sins designed for our protection not for us to cast stones at eachother. I say we don't push aside Gods truth EVER, but Gods truth is Grace, and how sweet it is!
all I am saying is... you have to catch the car before you can skin the cat... if this guy brings people to some enlightening... then so be it... now it is up to people like you and I, to lead then to the finish line.
Hmmm, interesting comments based out of fear from Gioperation. Even Christians know that every human being has a place inside that is "I Am"... Call it the seat of Christ, call it I AM, call it Peace, call it Prayer, Call it meditation. Words are only signposts that can sort of point to an idea but never fully describe it in its entirety. The fear mongering and trickery of western christian indoctrination seems to ask its followers to follow without finding the way for themselves or questioning when they have doubts or being who they wish to be by wearing jeans, heels, dresses, or togas. If you truly have connected with the peace that passes all understanding then you know it is too vast and wide and tall to speak of in mere words, as if you know better. Such ignorance. What is going to happen the day that Christians in Western society wake up and realize the millions of people around them who are in deep loving relationships with the same "God" "Spirit" who have been living their spirituality by doing it everyday in every moment and not talking about it. The most interesting thing to me is that Tolle specifically says, that whichever religion you subscribe to can become a deeper experience for you when learning about the Power of Now and applying it to your religion. Jesus has been horribly mistranslated and misquoted. Study his sayings from the original language it was written in and look up all of the words. You will find depths of meaning in his words that you had no idea were there. Your Pastor is not God. Your Pastor is not more capable of understanding the bible than you are. Put your energy into learning more about your own religion than spreading fear and intolerance on the internet. Peace be in your heart.

In what way did anyone on this post spread "fear or intolerance". Just curious, because I'd say thats a far reaching stab at the believers who posted here.
I do understand your frustration with christians, I used to say "I love God, but I hate the fanclub". I would agree that christians dont always go about delivering the "good news" the ways God intends us to. Every christian is easily tempted into pride and self-righteousness, including me. Its a sin that poisons the Name Jesus.
I will say that the problem with living out your own personal spirituality is that its your own. The power of Christ is in his authority, who he is, what hes done for us. Anything a christian does that is good and truthful comes directly from Christ. I will agree that we're all part of The Lords "I Am", we all believe in God, some of us just don't admit it. Christians keep talking about it because we can't contain it. We know Gods name, we know so much about who he is, we marvel at him, we love him and are moved emotionally by Him. He is our all and all, our King, our friend, lover, father. He's Amazing. We keep telling you because we want you to know Him too, to experience what we for so long were missing and then found.
You are right about christians not knowing their religion, I'll agree. There alot of people who sit in the pews every week that do not know the Lord, it's sad. They dont read the Bible, they may show up, but they dont desire a relationship with Him. Its sad.

I dont know about religion, I dont believe in religion. Its just repetitive meaningless acts to me. The Lord asks us to worship in spirit and truth

I'm telling you, if you are denying the Bibles authority, you are missing out. It reveals who God is. His story cannot be made up, I dont think any human could conceive of a story such as this. Gods ways are completely backwords from the way of the world, its breathtaking. The only reason any of us spend our time annoying you :) is because what we have is too good to keep to ourselves.
I was where you are a few years ago, I cast stones at christians (did I mention I have been a very liberal Jewish raised city girl for most my life)
I also said the Bible was incorrect, full of mistakes. All those thoughts held me back from knowing God, I let ignorant christians hold me back from my creator. I let my intellectual mind hold me back from his riches. He brought me to my knees and I surrendered to him 2 years ago and thats when I finally became liberated. I had no idea what I had been missing. He taught me about grace, truth, love, compassion. All these things I thought I knew, I had no idea. It was HUMBLING. I pray you can have this same experience. Its available for anyone who seeks his face, just continue to seek God. He has imprinted eternal life in your bones, deep down something may stir up in you. Just please dont be afraid to admit your errors, to repent, to humble yourself, to surrender. Because thats when you will be set free. Its by His blood.
